unless you a running a livepatch setup, you should always reboot after a kernel update.
or an nvidia driver update, but that’s an exception.
I’m not I just run 128 GB RAM in 4 dimms on Ryzen7000 which is tricky to get running at a reasonable speed and doesn’t always restart right so I’m reticent to restart
that sounds like a drag. have you tried a firmware update?
those usually help with getting ram to play nice.
Yeah. The memory controllers in the DDR5 ryzens just can’t handle 4 sticks of 32. The recommendation is 2 x 48gb but with RAM prices the way they are I’m probably going to stick with the 4 32s since that is what I have.
