Android 16 DP1 adds a new feature called Even Dimmer that lets the screen be dimmed below the lowest level of the brightness slider.

Why the fuck would they not just make the bottom of the brightness slider set that level?
Yeah they co7ld have a full bar with it being two-tierred

Instead…
- Have a shaded zone at the left of the brightness bar (which most people will have auto-managed).
- If the user drags into this zone auto-brightness is suppressed and the user can select an amount of extra dim.
- If the user drags out of this zone, and auto-brightness is enabled, allow to take over. Otherwise use the brightness at the users point of release.
No need for a magic setting. Brightness control is all in one place.
