      A republican in UK is someone who is against the monarchy. I guess if you were pro monarchy, it would make it a bad thing.

          Republican (anywhere except the US) == anti-monarchy

          Republican™ (US Version®) == racist, homophobic, theocratic neo-christian-nationalist.

        A Republican in the US desperately wants something like a monarchy, where they can kiss someone’s boot forever.
