101·7 months agoYep. These guys WISH their dumb little toy was capable of world domination.
What it is actually capable of is inaccurate spreadsheets and B+ middle school history papers.

29·7 months agoWhat about the other schools that the US and Israel have hit? What about the hospitals and civilian residential areas? What about the fact that the US military seems to want credit for the bombing?

Linux@lemmy.ml•Is there an application that stabilizes the volume level of downloaded mp3 files?English
6·7 months agoReplaygain 2.0 plugin for Musicbrainz Picard. Fix volume while getting your tags in order.
This doesn’t re-encode the files but tags them with information that tells your player how to adjust playback.
Yep. Even a lot of the cheap little game consoles and shit you get from China run some variety of Linux.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Consumerism ahhhhh momentEnglish
42·8 months agoIt’s fun that more than a century into a consumer based economy people still think: “ads don’t work on me!”.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Beyond fucked up (CW: sexualizing children)English
804·8 months agoYes, and it’s literally based on a true story that has happened a hundred times over and the film portrays this as a horrible thing.
Like the story is repellent and horrible because it is supposed to be. This is like a criticism of Schindler’s List because it portrays a genocide.
It’s funny because there is plenty of horrifying and deliberately salacious shit that they did with Shields that would merit more criticism. How about her fully nude appearance in Playboy at ten?

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Beyond fucked up (CW: sexualizing children)English
32·8 months agoTo be clear, the film treats this as the atrocity that it is and is based on a true story.
You probably wouldn’t describe this relationship as “falling in love” if you saw it as an adult. Nothing about this relationship is portrayed as healthy.

We have learned that a pretty significant number of the liberties that we enjoy only exist because it would be too much work to take them away.
We are seeing that will facial recognition and free speech and public assembly now.
Yes. An airplaine with big square windows, no seat belts, and seats that a normal human can fit into.
